Revised Draft 2 EXPLAIN!
Life as a highschool student was most definitely a unique experience for me. When I was a freshman I never been so excited to start this next chapter of my life; just like any other freshman in one of those romantic comedy movies. I can honestly say freshman year was probably my best year of high school despite the obstacles I faced throughout that year. Sophomore year was also a good year but wasn’t as exciting because nothing really beats that first year experience of highschool. By the time junior year came I was kind of over highschool but was probably one of my best academic year, especially towards second semester. Senior year I was completely over school and legitimately didn’t want to go anymore.
Far as my mindset, dedication, habits, and approach they were pretty good my freshman and junior year. I had a very strong approach towards school mainly because I had a lot to prove to myself at the time. It’s like the book A Separate Peace when the main character Gene would try so hard in school because he wanted to prove to himself that school was the one thing that he could truly be good at, something he had to prove just like me. My dedication somewhat resembles the dedication I have now. The only difference is that my dedication is much stronger this year. The reason for that leads back to what I was saying before which is having a lot to prove. I want to be a role model to my sibling and my family. I want more than to just succeed in life; I want happiness. If you ever watch the movie The pursuit of happiness the main character’s motive and drive is unbelievable. This guy literally had the odds stacked against him but he was persistent and dedicated which eventually lead to his happiness. This movie is so inspirational to me and is another reason why I was so dedicated to my work. Far as my habits and mindset they were remarkable.
Being passed along my sophomore and senior year wasn’t my proudest moment of my high school career but it was nice to not do much and still be able to move on. However, I did try my hardest freshman and junior year, I wanted to make honor roll bad. Sadly, I fell short of my goal by one point my junior year. Yea I know it’s like the saying goes “so close but so far.” I was pretty disappointed but got over it because I know I tried hard to achieve it even though I didn’t succeed. Just like the movie Friday Night Lights when these group of young men give it there all all season but loses their last game, sad but a memorable journey. Far as being rewarded for easy work, it rarely happen. The schools I went to you had to give it your all to really get by in highschool and I’m kind of glad that it was like that; because it’s most definitely paying off now.
